After Effects - Grunge Rust

Using the different techniques I learnt within the After Effects lessons I created the following video:

City In Flux - Grunge Rust from Nicole H.D.W. Sinclair on Vimeo.
A short trailer created for my Adobe After Effects class, I combined the techniques I learnt with my studio practise brief in order to create a video depicting Urban Decay.

Final Touches added to the Piece

I decided to set the somber tone of the trailer by adding a slight blue hue to the piece. I did this by first selecting "Colour Correction" and creating a "Curves" layer, then altering the RGB channel to heighten the colour contrasts before heightening the bottom end of the blue channel. At first I had experimented with setting a red hue to the piece to try and convey a sense of destruction through anger, however this instead came across as the more welcoming side to the colour red as it brought a warmth to the film.
Using "Curves" to create an emotive reaction

In this case I decided the best way to interpret my message of decay within the city through the use of the colour blue as this is well known to be a conveyor of sadness and melancholy. I think this decision compliments that of the cold feel to the latter part of the accompanying sound.

What would I change?

In particular I would create a fade in and fade out. The beginning of the track though isn't too bad, however when the film ends the soundtrack comes to an abrupt halt and so I would go back to the sound file, extend the track and fade it out as to give a gradient finish.
